Description
Inspired by a hack seen in the german velomobile forum, this GPS mount is designed to be easily adjusted. The mount area uses gray 3M VHB tape to attach the mount. A longer bolt will also be provided for those needing a rock solid mount. The circle part with the sticky tape can be rotated side to side and then locked down by tightening the bolt. The GPS mount part can be rotated up and down and also locked down by tightening a bolt. The mount is sized based on GoPro mounts and could theoretically be used to mount other items, though the strength of the tape has not yet been tested in this use case. Given the modularity of this design, it is possible to design other arms for mounting in additional locations, so be sure to check back for additional design options in the future.
The modular kit has now been expanded to include a new clip that mounts on the lower lip of the NACA duct in Buelk racehoods (may also fit the Milan racehood) and a cellphone holder mount. In addition, a new limited edition option for transparent orange or transparent blue PETG has been added.
The adhesive mount has not been tested for mounting a cellphone. If you would like to test this option, please contact me to discuss your interest. The option has been left as a potential configuration for those extending an existing kit or wishing to maximize mounting options.
Please note 3D printed items may sometimes show small cosmetic defects. These defects do not impact the function of the design and are purely cosmetic in nature. Also note that 3D printed materials are made of plastic and are prone to scratches.
